About Us
Farm History:
In August 2003 we purchased and boarded our first two female Alpacas and in September 2004 we purchased and boarded
two more females. We had four alpacas at two different farms as we waited for barn to be built and pasture to grow.
On November 24, 2004 our seven alpacas were moved to their “new” home, Gentle Meadows Alpaca Farm, 1682 Putnam Rd. S.W at the
residence of Jack and Jana Lee-Harris. GMAF is a family farm venture in partnership with Jack and Nancy Lee. At that time our
herd consisted of Carolina, Neely and Odin, Silver One and Celestine, Cinderella and Sammy. Initially, just seven alpacas moved
to the farm and today, January 20087, we have twenty beautiful, loving Huacaya alpacas of all colors.
Farming Today:
We are fully operational, we bale our own hay harvest, provide boarding, shear, show, provide Farm Tours, to the community and to
customers, provide presentations to Scouts, church groups and Civic Associations. We prepare for birthing, weaning and general
caring of our beloved Alpacas We have had activities in all niches of our farm business-breeding, boarding and fiber. We are a
small farm and we would like to pass along to you what we have learned about raising this special animal. Come visit and see what an alpaca
is and the workings of our farm, Gentle Meadows Alpaca Farm. Give us a call 740-964-1574, email at jleeharris@aol.com
